Tags
Tags are for definition of arbitrary amount of own groups, which you can assign to individual source devices and parsers. Every device can contain tags, which for example specify his placement, inclusion, assignment, state etc.
You can filter the Classifiers, Templates, Parsing rules, filter data from the devices in Dashboards and create overviews based on tags.
Every message stored in Logmanager system contains user_tags attribute. Device, which was a tag defined, stores to all own incoming messages name of this specific tag.
You can define color of the font and background color for better visual clarity.
All defined tags are loaded in the tag list and only information about the tag name is shown (name). Above the tag list is a search box, where you can filter the records.
Tags can be added, edited and deleted.
By clicking on the Add icon a new form will be opened, which you can use to create a new tag.
Following information is needed:
- Name: arbitrary tag name.
- Color: allows to select specific color or insert a HEX format value of the color.
- Background color: allows to select specific color or insert a HEX format value color of the background.
After you are done with inserting the information, saving of the data and creation of the new tag is done by clicking on the create button. On creation, the name item is checked, because that has to be unique. By clicking on the cancel button, all data are discarded and list of the tags is shown.
Tags can be also created directly on adding or editing of a source device.
To edit an existing tag you can click on the pencil icon. You can edit all details. I tis still true, that the name has to be unique.
When you are done with editing, you can save changes by clicking save button, or cancel button to discard any changes done.
Changing the name of the tag will take effect only on new logs, the user_tags attribute will remain unchanged on previous logs.
You can delete existing tag by clicking the cross icon. This will open the deletion dialog.
Name of the tag you want to delete is shown for confirmation. To confirm deletion, click on YES, to cancel deletion, use the button NO.
Removal of a tag will take effect only on new logs, attribute user_tags will remain unchanged on previous logs.
