Configuring QNAP

Instructions for setting up log forwarding from QNAP for versions 4.5.2.1566 and later:

  1. Update the QuLog Center app to version 1.2.0.544 or later.
  2. Open Control Panel.
  3. Go to System ‣ QuLog Center ‣ Log Sender ‣ Send to Syslog Server.
  4. Tick the box „Send logs to a remote Syslog Server“.
  5. Select „+Add Destination“ and type the IP address of the remote syslog server.
  6. In Port, enter the port number as 514.
  7. Under „Log Type“ select “Event & Access Logs”.
  8. Apply to confirm.

Instructions for setting up log forwarding from QNAP for versions 4.5.1.1540 and earlier:

  1. Open Control Panel.
  2. Go to System ‣ System Logs ‣ Syslog Client Management.
  3. Tick the box Enable Syslog.
  4. In the Syslog server enter the Logmanager hostname or IP address.
  5. In UDP Port, enter a port number as 514.
  6. Under „select the logs to record“, tick the box system event logs and system connection logs.
