Logmanager System/Server Management

Logmanager is an appliance build on Dell or HPE Server platform. Logmanager physical servers contain Out of Band Management (OoBM) specific for a given server platform - iDrac for Dell or iLO for HPE. OoBM establish a dedicated management channel for device maintenance. It allows a system administrator to monitor and manage server and its equipment by remote control regardless of whether the machine is powered on, or whether an operating system is installed or functional. Both iDrac and iLO provide gigabit Ethernet port and require dedicated Ethernet connectivity.

Note to OoBM on Logmanager appliance:

  • Pre-configured IP addressing, administrator user name and password is a part of Logmanager handover protocol. If handover document is lost, data can be retrieved through Logmanager support.
  • OoBM function is fully licensed.

  • Access to BIOS is on every Logmanager appliance locked. BIOS version and its configuration is on Logmanager customized by vendor and any unauthorized modifications must be prevented. If there is a specific reason to access the BIOS, please contact Logmanager support.
