Avast! Security

Avast! Security is a package of applications and tools used to protect workstations and servers running on Windows. It includes two main parts: protection of client workstations and server administration.

Both parts generate reports about their activities, which can be sent to the server Logmanager.

Server administration of Avast! Products stores its reports in the Windows Event logs. For retrieving data from these logs, it is necessary to have the Windows Event Sender (WES) running. For sending of the data to the server Logmanager, please follow the chapter: Microsoft Windows Event Sender (WES) (Deprecated).

Protection of client workstations with OS Windows stores its logs to a log files on the system disc.

This procedure demonstrates the GUI configuration for all available messages.

1. Configure the Logmanager to watch the log files on Windows with Avast! Premier. Follow the Chapter Windows.
2. We find computer with Avast! Premier and we need to set following properties on Editing client station page:
3. Please fill the following form fields:
   • Log Type: set value avastclient
   • Log Source: enter path to log file: x:\program data\avast software\avast\log\*.logg
4. Click Save when you are done.

After updating Windows Event Sender settings Avast! Premier messages will be sent to the Logmanager.
